The HealthyStart® System

When children begin to show signs of misaligned teeth, the HealthyStart® System can be a great alternative to braces. Using soft, custom-fit plastic aligners – resembling a mouth guard or a night guard – HealthyStart® helps address teeth alignment issues early on in a gentle, natural way. Over time, this helps to guide a child’s adult teeth into place. The process is often quicker, cheaper, and just as effective as braces. 

Even better, the HealthyStart® System helps to address a common sleep condition many children have called sleep disordered breathing (SDB). SDB includes a range of sleep-related breathing problems, from snoring to sleep apnea. Children dealing with SDB can experience a range of symptoms, including ADD/ADHD, Bedwetting, Mouth Breathing, and more. HealthyStart® helps avoid these sleep-related issues by opening a child’s airway at nighttime, helping them breathe better while also helping their airways develop better over time so they are less likely to suffer from sleep-related breathing issues as an adult.

The HealthyStart® System is suitable for treating a range of misalignment issues, many of which start as a minor problem but generally get worse over time. What Does HealthyStart® Involve

Getting started with the HealthyStart® System is very similar to the process of getting fit for a night guard. First, we make impressions of your child’s teeth, which are then sent off to the lab to make the appliance. This generally takes a couple of weeks.

After we receive the appliance, your child will wear it for a portion of each day, typically at night time. Depending on the severity of your child’s condition, age, and other factors, how long he or she will need to use HealthyStart® can vary. We will build a custom plan suited to your child’s situation and continue to monitor progress over time.
